You are still in a body you weren't born in. All the speculation seems to derive from a 2018 interview with series creator Laeta Kalogridis, in which she told The Wrap, "The idea that this kind of technology creates interesting intersections between your idea of your physical self and your idea of your inner or spiritual self, or your idea of being fluid in some way, certainly the idea of reassigning your gender, becomes a whole lot easier if you don't actually have to do it surgically. There's been some recent speculation from the unlit corners of the internet that Joker and Deadpool 2 actress Zazie Beetz might be tapped to play the latest Takeshi Kovacs sleeve. As with all shows, new faces should be expected on Altered Carbon season 3, including perhaps a new Takeshi Kovacs. Whether or not Dichen Lachman, who plays Kovacs' sister Reileen Kawahara, will be back remains to be seen. "Kovacs Prime" - for season 3, and will likely be joined by Chris Conner as Poe, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist Falconer, Simone Missick as bounty hunter Trepp, and Dina Shihabi as Dig 301. Will Yun Lee should return as the other Takeshi Kovacs - a.k.a. Plus, the actor told The Hollywood Reporter he's not ready to hang up his Altered Carbon shoes: "I hope I get the opportunity to bring Kovacs back again next season. There could, however, be flashbacks in which Mackie will appear. Sadly, if the writers follow the same pattern of re-sleeving each season, it's unlikely that Mackie will be back, since he replaced Joel Kinnaman after the first season. we'll have to see."Įveryone wants to see Anthony Mackie, who played Kovacs on season 2, return for Altered Carbon season 3. So that's our promise to the audience, there is his stack, there is Takeshi Kovacs' consciousness. And we also just loved the idea of Poe, who's been fighting deterioration the whole season, to then have his own moment of nobility where he basically sacrifices himself but manages to copy Kovacs at the same moment. "And we wanted to make that promise to the audience in season 2. "We all loved the end of season 1, where Kovacs gives the sleeve of Ryker back to Ortega and then all you see are these boots walking out of the elevator, and you're like, 'I think Kovacs is coming back, but in what sleeve?'" Schapker said. That said, with the release of the anime spin-off, the company does seem committed to the underlying IP, so maybe the odds will be in Altered Carbon's father. ![]() Netflix has been swinging the cancellation ax a bit more liberally lately, meaning Altered Carbon will have to have garnered substantial viewership numbers for season 2 to merit another renewal. It's difficult to speculate how Netflix feels about the cost-to-benefit ratio of any of its properties, and the streamer keeps notoriously mum about its viewership numbers, so the only data points available to inform guesses about a release date relate to the series' high cost of production. It's not pefect but if you're coming from any other WRC game then the issues are things you already know. So on the whole, i'd say this the best WRC game to date. Still much tweaking to be done on my part though. SAT and compression forces are really nicely done but can't get enough surface detail so it all feels a tad floaty when not going over bumps. I'm stuggling to get the FF dialed in this time round. Simpy having an option to increase engine volume in isolation would help a bit. Engine sound is probably the worst it's ever been. It's not all roses though, the menus still suck balls on the PC especially during controller setup. Generall presentation and polish has gone up a notch. ![]() Haven't looked at the career yet so no idea on that. Hooking everything together gives a exceptional sence of flow when combined with the amazing stage design is utterly addictive. You now have to be much more considered about how you place the car as all your moves have consequence for linking corners and going over jumps. I wasn't sure about this initially as the cars feel less 'sharp' but after a few runs I was hooked. The cars now have much more weight and inertia and consequently slide a bit more than before. The first thing i noticed was the handling is slightly different. ![]() They don't understate dangerous curves and I've found a timing scheme that works just great.Ĭlick to expand.I picked up WRCG yesterday too. Never, so far, have I blamed the co-driver for any of my crashes so far. I got the feeling at times in DR1 and Dirt 4 that the co-driver was trying to kill us. One more good thing: pace notes and co-driver are among the best I've experienced. We'll see if it gets old while going through the career mode. But my butt clinches every time I'm about to hit one of those rocks b/c you expect a huge audible "DONK" and judder through the wheel, but then you get nothing. You get some gravel feel and pebble sound. My only complaint with WRC9 is lacking any audio or FFB when running over large rocks on stage. I remember DR2 being better, but that fact doesn't detract from my enjoyment. Really immersive and with good changing weather effects. But, now when I go back to WRC9, and not immediately after DR2 like when I tested both, the graphics look great. Hoping to pick up Generations sometime next week. It's become my goto rally game over the last couple of years. Long challenging and varied to keep you interested all the way through. FF is aceptable, sound is a bit meh but the stages are just exceptional. I prefer the cleaner look graphics, the handling is decent enough and much better on tarmac than the DR games. WRC9 is my goto (I tried 10 but wasn't keen on some of the handling changes and it had many more of those performance niggles the games are renowned for). On the other hand i've become quite a fan of the later WRC games. The stages are quite laboroius and fairly unremarkable, the handling wasn't as raw and i just felt the experience quite underwhelming compared to the original. DR2 had the content in bucketloads and a lot of nice new features but despite many efforts I just didn't click with it. I loved DR1, in fact it's still installed and i play it regularly - I just wish it had more content. But I just couldn't see myself playing DR2 without ending every session frustrated.Ĭlick to expand.Nice to hear some someone with the same experiece as me. If I play it for 10 hours, it won't have been time wasted. WRC9 has worse graphics - though still pretty good, wider tracks, a better career system, nice challenges. I can't imagine doing these stages over and over again. I was in slow cars to start, but how frustrating to be in rally monsters and averaging 40 MPH. ![]() Long story short, DR2 is gone from my hard drive. The fact that we have to download 4 seasons of DLC that we may never buy is totally egregious. So much practicing for events and so much repetition that I couldn't stand another stage and even quit the series early.įirst, WTF is up with the DR2 download size?!!? 110 GB vs. Sidebar - I got completely burned out on DR1 doing the RD rally league. I figured I'd do a side-by-side with DR2 since I had a steam key lying around from a humble bundle or something.
